Who can teach on YoungSkillz?

If you are passionate about teaching and guiding young minds, here is a great chance to inspire future minds of tomorrow and make a real difference. We do not require that the teachers on YoungSkillz have formal training to teach. However we strongly encourage that you have some background and experience working and teaching kids. We do require a criminal background check before you teach the first class on YoungSkillz.

What can I teach?

Learners on YoungSkillz are kids between 5 - 17 years of age. Instructors can teach on subjects and topics that are age appropriate and which the kids would enjoy and find interesting. STEM education, art, creativity, public speaking, life skills etc are some of the popular topics that are currently being taught on YoungSkillz. We are however open to other courses and topics that would enhance their knowledge and help in their overall development.

What are some typical course/class lengths and durations?

Here are some types and durations of classes that you can teach

• The first type is short classes which may be offered as stand-alone classes and meet just one-time or 2-3 times. These are typically not built on any previous session and students can just drop-in to these classes. For example many art classes or exploratory classes involving science may be offered as drop-in classes.
• The second type is longer courses which span 4 - 10 sessions de--pending on the topics. These courses have sessions typically built on the previous session. For example a Python programming course may have 5-10 sessions.
• The thid type is semester long classes which may meet once or twice a week. These are typically related to the school curriculum and cover topics in Math, Science, English etc.
• Other types that do not fit in the above

How much should I charge for my course/class?

Although we do not put any restrictions on how much you should charge for the courses that you teach, here are some guidelines.

• For classes that meet one time, you can choose to charge somewhere between $10-$15.
• For longer classes that meet multiple times you may choose to charge $15 - $20 per session
• You can charge more or less depending on the content/ complexity of the class, your experience and the popularity of the course. It is also a good idea to offer promotional courses at lower prices from time to time.

How much will I get paid?

You will receive 85% of the enrollment amount (minus the payment processing fees)

How and when will I get paid?

We will process the payments within 5-7 business days after your class (or first session in case of a course meeting multiple times). Your payment will be made electronically either via Interac transfer or via our payment processing service.
